Question

How often should I go to a chiropractor?

How Often Should You Visit a Chiropractor in Philadelphia?

How often you should visit a chiropractor in Philadelphia depends on your individual condition, lifestyle, and health goals. For most patients, chiropractic care begins with a phase of consistent in-office treatment paired with personalized lifestyle recommendations to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support proper spinal alignment.

As your body responds and symptoms improve, care typically transitions into regular, recurring check-ins. These visits help maintain results and prevent future issues through ongoing chiropractic adjustments, rehabilitation exercises, stretching, posture correction, and movement guidance designed for long-term wellness.

Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, recovering from an injury, or focused on preventive care, a customized treatment plan with a Philadelphia chiropractor can help you stay active and healthy.

Question:

What is “chiropractic?” What is a “chiropractor?” What does “chiropractic” mean?

What Does Chiropractic Care Treat?

Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, particularly spinal dysfunction, that can affect overall health and movement. A chiropractor in Philadelphia uses techniques such as spinal adjustments, trigger point therapy, and corrective exercises to reduce pain, restore proper function, and support nervous system health.

In addition to hands-on treatment, chiropractic care emphasizes long-term wellness through personalized recommendations. These may include guidance on posture, ergonomics, nutrition, sleep habits, and stress management to help prevent future issues and promote lasting relief.

By addressing the root cause of discomfort, not just symptoms, chiropractic care helps patients move better, feel better, and maintain a healthier, more active lifestyle.

  • Some insurances may accept receipts for reimburesment to your insurance company for reimbursement. We do not accept private insurance as a form of payment.

  • Chiropractic care is not only safe for pregnant women, it is critical piece towards achieving optimal health during pregnancy. Dr. Tripp would suggest that one of ihe most important times to see a chiropractor is during pregnancy.

While pregnant, your body is dealing with countless changes, which can stress the body and the nervous system in many different ways. Chiropractors work to keep pain levels down and functionality high during pregnancy. One specific area that the chiropractor will focus on is the pelvis. Pelvic function is an essential part of pregnancy, development, and delivery.

Dr. Tripp has studied with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is certified in Webster Technique. Webster technique is the analysis and correction of pelvic biomechanical function in pregnant women.

  • Chiropractic care is NOT addictive! We do however see a high return rate once people see the benefit of the care. If you start a healthy diet and exercise regiment, you feel the benefit and wish to continue. You are not addicted to a healthy diet or to exercising the same way that a person does not get addicted to chiropractic care. You simply understand the great benefit and want to continue care.

  • While it is true that all professional sports teams have on site chiropractors, and that all serious athletes should see a chiropractor for optimal performance. Everyone should be seen by a chiropractor. We all use our nervous system to carry out every action in our daily routine. A chiropractor’s job is to reduce nervous system dysfunction. Chiropractic care is essential for every and anyone looking to be healthy.

  • The adjustments alone are not painful at all. Rather, they are quick and gentle, and relieving. If Dr. Tripp decides to do any soft tissue work (this is common during most sessions), some of the techniques used to work on muscles and soft tissue can be tender at times. He compares the level of pain to a deep tissue massage: there can be a similar pain/sensation during treatment of the soft tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons, etc.).

  • Your first appointment typically takes a little longer in order for your doctor to collect all relevant information. Regular adjustments typically last 10-15 minutes. If we need to add decompression, please give yourself an additional 10-20 minutes.

  • Please note our cancellation policy: Rescheduling and cancellation is available until 12 hours prior to your appointment time. You may cancel or reschedule by clicking “change/cancel” in the body of your confirmation email or by logging onto our website with your email.

Dr. Tripp has been a chiropractic patient himself for over 15 years now. He once suffered from severe chronic pain in his lower back, shoulders, and knees that limited his activities and affected the quality of his life. Thanks to chiropractic care, he has been pain free for a long time; he gets routinely adjusted 1-2 times per month!
